Renate Heinzelmann

Renate is a postdoctoral fellow in Richard Hamelin’s lab at UBC. She completed her PhD at ETH Zurich and the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research WSL, were she was working on Armillaria root disease. Her work with the CoAdapTree project involves a genomic approach to elucidate the population structure of Dothistroma septosporum, the causal agent of Dothistroma needle blight of pines, in western North America and at global scale. Furthermore, she is looking at climate and host adaptations in D. septosporum across latitudinal, longitudinal and altitudinal gradients within western North America.
